Happy Holidays - Christmas 2010 Stories

Santa Claus - the boys were good this year and Santa came to our house. We had fun setting out cookies and then opening presents the next morning.

Wilmes Family Christmas - we all went over to Grandma and Papa Wilmes' house to celebrate Christmas. The boys had fun playing with their cousins Kylee and Hunter along with seeing their Auntie Angela, Uncle Mark and Uncle Adam. Of course, hanging out with Grandma and Papa was fun too.

The boys received some fun toys and were excited to play with them all.

Gens Family Christmas - after driving through the night with Uncle Brian, we arrived in Ohio and were greeting by GG, Grampa and Uncle Robert. Grampa has his train that he played with when he was a boy all set up and waiting for us. We played with the train and later that day opened gifts.

Sledding - Grampa bought a sled for us to use and knew the perfect hill for us to try. We all went sledding....even Braden by himself and then Grampa took the last trip with Braden. It was so much fun!

Friendships - we all traveled down to Columbus over the Christmas holiday to see some friends. I was in Girl Scouts with Lori and Roxie and my mom were the girl scout leaders. Always fun to catch up and let our kids play together.

I have to explain the last slide: We got a snack...yummy peppermint milk shake from Chick-fil-A. I gave a taste to Reece who loved it and would not give it back. He cried and cried and finally I had to give it back. He called it "mine" and was not in to sharing....I think he had half of it! It was not a proud mommy moment for me! Oh well!
Reading books - Uncle Robert reading to Reece who is very attentive.

Beattles Fan - Reece loves to dance and really gets into the music playing in the kitchen.

Buddies - Grampa was watching football and Reece decided to cuddle up and join him. How sweet is that!

Christmas House

Countdown to Christmas - the boys are enjoying the Christmas house. We needed some sort of a countdown to Santa!

Lazy Morning

PJ's - we love to stay in our pj's all morning on the weekend. Especially when it is cold outside like on this Saturday. Mom loves to dress us in similar outfits....aren't we cute in our matching pj's?

Our kid might be a genius

Exact match - This morning, Aaron cut up some toast for Reece and just place it on his tray in a random order. Reece picked up four pieces and put them exactly back together. He even "grunted" and pointed for his daddy to look at what he had done. Do we have a boy genius on our hands?

Happy Thanksgiving

Thankful - we were so thankful to spend time with family this past Thanksgiving. GG and Grampa came and stayed with us along with Uncle Brian and Uncle Robert. It was a lot of fun to have everyone at the house. We relaxed, at plenty of turkey and fixings, shopped and played some euchre (a family favorite). We also went over to the Wilmes' to relax with family too. It was a nice time.

Happy Halloween

Trick or Treat - we got lots of treats on Halloween....the boys will be eating candy for quite some time. The weather was fantastic and the boys had a great time. It all started with a parade and party in the neighborhood. This was followed by a trip out to see Grandma and Papa Wilmes after which we rushed home to begin trick or treating with our neighbors. The boys had a great time and were worn out in the end.

Charleston, SC Vacation

Red's on Shem Creek - Braden, Reece, GG and I did some shopping and then kicked in our vacation with lunch at Red's on Shem Creek. We ate outside, enjoyed the fresh air, watched some boats go by and enjoyed some delicious fish. It is one of our favorite places.

GO TIGERS - We took Braden to his first Clemson football game. It was so much fun. Unfortunately we lost but still fun to be together and cheer C-L-E-M-S-O-N!

Breakfast time - Going out to breakfast after church on Sunday. Robert took us to a favorite place on "the island". It hit the spot and we got a good start to our day.

Touring American History - we took the boys to see and discover the H.L. Hunley. It was a very interesting tour and well enjoyed ourselves.

Fleet Landing - A must on our trips to Charleston, we ate dinner out on the deck of Fleet Landing. Grampa ate his mussels, everyone else sampled various dishes from crabcakes, to flounder to fish sticks that the boys ate up. No crumbs left for the birds on our plates.

The views are spectacular and we always have a nice time.

First official haircut

More than a trim - in preparation for our trip to Charleston, SC, we decided that it was time to give Reece a haircut. His last one in June was just a trim around the neck and ears. Finally, at the age of 15mos, Reece needs his first haircut.
His Auntie Angela did a great job and Reece did not mind one bit. In fact, it worked so well that we put Braden up on the bucket to get a haircut. We had a handsome set of boys that day!

THANKS Auntie Angela!

Linebacker in Training

Future Linebacker - Reece loves to push Braden around on one of our trucks. He is pretty strong and we say that he is a "linebacker in training" like he is pushing one of those football sleds around. Instead, it is Braden on a truck.

I love watching the boys play together!

Braden's 3rd Birthday Party

Happy Birthday Braden - I can't believe Braden is 3 years old. Boy how time flies. He requested a Thomas the Train birthday cake so that was what I made him. It was a lot of work but worth every minute just seeing his reaction.

We all had a great time....especially Braden who received his first bike, and plenty of other fun gifts.

A field of Sunflowers - Saturday we took the boys to see some sunflowers just north of Lawrence. It was spectacular and something we'd love to do again.

One, Two, Three steps...

Look Who's Walking - Reece is on the move. He took his first steps for Aaron on Aug 21st and then again for his mommy after she came running over to see with the camera! As Aaron stated, it was the best birthday present ever.

He hasn't taken off yet as crawling is much faster.....it won't be long though!

Go long.....

Hut...Hut...Hike - Reece loves the football. Lately, the boys have been playing catch....Daddy hands off to Reece who "throws" to Braden who then passes it back off to daddy. It is so fun to watch them play together. I think we have a future football star on our hands!

Braden the baker

Yummy cupcakes - Braden and Aaron made cupcakes one day. As you can tell, Braden was quite proud of what they did. He even helped to decorate them.

Cousins at play

Playdate - Braden's cousin Hunter came over for the day while his parents moved in to their new house. The boys had a great time coloring with crayons and paint. We then ran around in the yard and driveway before we decided it was time to cool off in the pool. All three boys crashed for a wonderful nap. It was a great day!

Yeee Haww!

Birthday Greeting - Reece received a birthday card from his Uncle Brian that plays music. He quickly figured out how to play the song over and over again by opening and closing the card. As you can see in the videos, Reece loves to boogy to this catchy hamster dance.

I promise I'm not joking when I say it entertained him for at least 30min. It was hysterical just watching him open and close the card so he could dance.
